The North and East of Zambia and Parts of the neighbouring countries host countless occurrences of some of the finest natural citrine. Their colour ranges from very light to very deep and intense yellow and has a natural origin, i.e., they are not heat treated. Some crystals have distinct growth zones of smoky quartz alternating with the citrine often forming double-terminated pieces.
A couple of years ago the discovery of large Japan-law citrine twins brought some spectacular specimens to light. The individual pieces may reach over 20cm in size and some are crystallised all around.
